Create a picture password

Using a picture password is a fun way keep your device secure while not having to remember a complex password. To enable it, press the Windows key + I to get to the settings charm. Click "Change PC settings" at the bottom right, and go to the Users tab. Under "Sign-in options" will be the "Create a picture password" button. This will give you the option to choose any picture, and then define three gestures anywhere on the image. Your gestures can be circles, swipes and clicks. Just try by yourself or follow the instructions.

Second windows, From that you have to choose any image that you want to set as  password by simply pressing "choose image" button .

After choosing the image you have to conform your image by clicking "Use this image".

Finally  u have to make three gestures in your images.

After choosing three gesture, u have to reconfirm your gesture. Finally u got a picture password on your lock screen and also on log-in screen..

Note: I'm just a beginner. if u find any mistake in English, i'm  sorry for that..

Find your computer Uptime

A trick for all geeks who would like to know how long since they haven‟t shut down their computer.  

1. Go to Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc brings without UAC popup) 

2. Go to performance tab.

To create a bootable USB storage device

Windows Vista and Windows 7/windows 8 can be installed via a bootable USB drive as well. And the installation would be much easier and faster than installation via DVD. Initially Windows Vista/7/8DVD or installation source (setup backup files stored on local hard disk) & a 4GB USB 2.0 Storage device would be required. You can follow the steps to install Windows Vista/7 from USB Drive. 

1. Plug your USB storage device and run CMD and execute the following commands one after another. 

• Diskpart  Run Disk partition utility 
• List disk  To get disk index that is used to perform disk partitioning.  
• Select disk 1  Selects disk to perform disk partitioning.  
• Clean  Flush your existing all USB drive’s partitions.  
• Create partition primary  Creates a partition as primary partition.  
• Format recommended  Format your USB drive with recommended parameters. (No need to worry about file system format)  
• Active  Set the partition as active to hold bootmgr.  
• Exit  To quit Diskpart utility  

2. After executing the above commands simply copy all Windows Vista/7 files from DVD/Backup storage to USB storage device.  

3. Change boot settings from BIOS and set it to boot with your USB drive, you can install Windows Vista/7 via bootable USB storage device. That is it. 

Note: For boot problems try Fixing your USB Storage drive with the command  I:\Boot\Bootsect.exe /NT60 I: where I: is the drive letter of USB storage device

3.  The command enables tracing for 60 seconds & would collect all the data after observing the system behavior. 
4.  After analysis it would generate a report.    
5.  The energy report is generated in HTML format in the directory shown in the command prompt. 
6. Cmd Prompt Address\energy-report.html by default. 
7.  In the HTML file, scroll to the end till you get information like this:

How to quickly configure the Windows Explorer toolbar

It takes about five minutes to get the desired set of buttons on the Explorer toolbar.

1. Open the File or folder selected tab.
2. In the left pane, select folder types. Tip: use CTRL or SHIFT to select multiple or better all folder types.
3. In the right pane, select the buttons you don’t want to have on the toolbar and click Remove Buttons.
4. Click Add Buttons and select the file management buttons you want to display on the toolbar.

That’s it! Now open a folder or press F5 in an existing one, select a file or folder, and you’ll see your buttons.

How to reorder buttons

If you want to reorder buttons, select an individual folder type in the left pane, then select a button in the right pane and use arrows to move it to the desired position.
 

How to revert your changes

You can roll back any changes you made with Explorer Toolbar Editor by pressing the Restore defaults button. You will get the set of buttons that you had before you used Explorer Toolbar Editor for the first time.

How to add the Recycle Bin to the taskbar The Recycle Bin is always located on your desktop, and you can drag files and folders to it to delete them. To make it even easier, you can add the Recycle Bin to your taskbar

To add the Recycle Bin to your taskbar, follow these

steps: 

1. Open the desktop by clicking the Desktop icon from the Start screen or by pressing Windows+D.

2. Start File Explorer by clicking it on the taskbar. On the View tab, select the Hidden Items check box. Close File Explorer.

 3. If the taskbar is locked, unlock the taskbar by right-clicking it and then selecting Lock The Taskbar. If Lock The Taskbar does not have a check mark next to it, the taskbar is already unlocked.

 4. Right-click the taskbar, select Toolbars, and then click New Toolbar. Select C:\Users\ <username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch. This displays the Quick Launch toolbar on the taskbar, which provides quick access to shortcuts and folders. The Quick Launch toolbar was popular with Windows Vista and earlier versions of Windows, but Windows 7 and Windows 8 support pinning shortcuts to the taskbar, so the Quick Launch toolbar became redundant. However, you cannot easily pin the Recycle Bin to the taskbar, so the Quick Launch toolbar is still useful.

 5. Grab the dotted line and drag the Quick Launch toolbar to the left, making it larger.

6. On the taskbar, right-click Quick Launch, highlight View, and then select Large Icons.

7. On the taskbar, right-click Quick Launch and clear the Show Text option.

 8. On the taskbar, right-click Quick Launch and clear the Show Title option.

9. Drag the Recycle Bin from the desktop to the Quick Launch toolbar.

10. Once again, grab the dotted line to resize the Quick Launch toolbar. This time, drag it all the way to the right, making it as small as possible.

11. Right-click the taskbar, and select Lock The Taskbar.

Now, you can drag items to the Recycle Bin on your taskbar to delete them, and empty the Recycle Bin by clicking it on the taskbar.
